As we continue to develop our work on equality, diversity and inclusion, we are pleased this week to launch a new Twitter account, @SALinclusion.
The account will be operated by our equalities officer, Fran Snitjer, and will give us the opportunity to highlight and share the work being done by ourselves as a governing body, and by others within the sport.
You’ll often see SAL – short for Scottish Athletics Ltd – included in the names of our Twitter accounts and hashtags, and we’ve included it here too.
Fran (pictured) said: ‘The new Twitter account will provide a place to showcase and promote the work going on around inclusion both within scottishathletics and right across athletics in Scotland.
‘We’ll use it to tell people about our own equality projects, including the work of our Equality & Diversity Advisory Group, and projects with our equality partners.
‘We also hope it will help encourage clubs to get involved in diversity campaigns and share best practice, giving us a place to promote club inclusion projects to a wider audience.
‘It’s really encouraging to already see regular tweets from clubs and individuals in the sport highlighting their work on inclusion – please tag @SALinclusion for retweets and give us a follow!’
We have also recently uploaded an updated Diversity Calendar for 2022 to the Equality page of our website.
This easy-to-read pdf highlights numerous opportunities for clubs and individuals to support diversity within the sport, arranged by theme and date.
