Key info about Renfrew

All roads lead to Renfrew this weekend for the latest big cross country event in Scotland.

We are delighted to once again be hosting the British Cross Challenge within our own Inter-District XC event.

In addition, there is an element of international action, too, in certain age groups as young athletes represent Scotland against teams from Ireland in the Celtic Nations XC (with Wales unfortunately opting not to compete).

It means we will have more than a few podium moments to be across but hopefully that simply adds to the enjoyment at Renfrew.

The King George V Playing Fields will offer up a flat course and was used once in the recent past for a Lindsays Short Course XC – with Laura Muir memorably smashing it to win the Women’s race.

But mud seems certain to be guaranteed and all planning to attend – to compete, coach, volunteer or support – are advised to wrap up given the low temperatures expected.

Teams from the East, West and North regions will compete for medals across the Inter-District age groups.

At Senior level, the team contests also include Scottish Student Sport and visitors from the North of England.
