Records Committee – help required

Nick Percy – set Scottish discus record a number of times in 2016

At scottishathletics there are many key tasks taken on by volunteers and we are looking for assistance once again.

As well as the roles within the Commissions, there are important sub-committees – such as the Records and Statistics Sub-Committee, which works under the auspices of the Track and Field Commission.

This is an essential role for the sport, helping to curate top performances at all levels and judge them in the context of the history of athletics in Scotland in various disciplines.

We’re now looking for a couple more people to join the Records and Statistics Sub-Committee, which meets four times a year and communicates on matters by e-mail in addition.

Meetings are held during weekdays but this could be amended to weekends or evenings to suit the commitments of members.

Volunteers should have:

*A keen interest in, and knowledge of, athletics statistics

*A general awareness of the rules and guidance regarding records

*A current or historic interest in the area

The role may suit someone who is currently a statistician for their club. Please email Moira Maguire, Track and Field Commission Convenor, with expressions of interest or if you have a query: mmaguire3@blueyonder.co.uk
