Our new edition of PB magazine is going out to scottishathletics members over the next few days – in print and the digital version by email.
The first edition of 2024 is a special one as it marks the World Indoors in Glasgow – the first global track and field champs held in Scotland.
We have a 12-page special section devoted (mainly) to the Scots with the GB and NI team – Josh Kerr, Jemma Reekie and Laura Muir – plus our Scottish Officials on duty. Track legend Tom McKean also takes a run down Memory Lane.
The Lindsays National XC always commands attention and we’ve a three-page special covering all the excitement of that event.
In our Grassroots Athletics section, look out for some terrific, absorbing reads from writers Katy Barden and David McCarthy.
These include a look at the rise of Women’s Running in Scotland, Larkhall YMCA, Andrew McGill/Frank Clement and Steve Adam of Carnegie Harriers. We’ve a High Jump piece, too, with Matthew Tait and coach Allan Smith.
Finally, we’re 100 years on from a rather special moment at the Olympics so our scottishathletics Historian, Arnold Black, has edited a piece (by the late Colin Shields) all about Paris 1924 gold medallist Eric Liddell.
