A strong Scottish cohort of students competed at the BUCS Indoors event last weekend – and there were some fine performances.
Pride of place should go to Women’s 4x200m Relay champions as a team from Strathclyde Uni came up with 1:40.40 performance which is a new Scottish Club Record.
Congratulations to Rachel Callan, Kelsey Stewart, Emma Barclay, Erin Campbell and their coaches.
There was gold in the Men’s long jump for Calum Henderson with 7.30m and silver in the high jump for Claire McGarvey with 1.75m. Ewan Bradley was another field medallist, taking bronze in the pole vault with 4.83m.
On the track there were a couple of fine performances in an all-time context: Alyson Bell took bronze in the 60m with 7.38 to move sixth on the Scottish lists and Jane Davidson is now seventh all-time for 60m Hurdles with 8.45.
Stefanie Tucker took a silver in the 3000m with 9:31.70 and Stewart Greenhalgh a bronze in the 200m with21.91.

Scottish Para athletes have been in Dubai recently and competed at the World Athletics Para Grand Prix event with real success.
Fife AC athlete Ben Sandilands won the T20 1500m in 3:54.19 to post a new European Record for the classification.
Congratulations to Ben, his family and coach Steve Doig.
Fife AC’s Owen Miller was in that race and finished second in T20 in 4:00.24.
Team East Lothian’s Maria Lyle took a silver medal in the T35 200m in Dubai.
In fact, there were a number of podium positions for the small team of Scots. Full results are:
