Scotland team selection for Loughborough International 2022

Nick Percy was picked once again to represent Scotland at Loughborough early on Tuesday – then went out later the same day to come up with another Scottish Record.

And the discus thrower added almost a metre onto the mark he already held with a fine performance in Limassol in Cyprus.

Having thrown 63.47m a couple of weeks ago to break his own Record, Nick threw out to 64.35m this time as he continues his excellent 2022 form.

Subject to ratification, that will further raise the standards of Scottish Records and we send our warm congratulations to Nick, his family and his coach, Zane Duquemin, and support team.

There will be no UK Inter-County Champs in track and field this summer.

Track and Field Convenor Leslie Roy confirmed that scottishathletics have been advised that the event, which in the past took place within the same meet as the England Athletics Senior Champs, will not happen in 2022 – largely because of the Commonwealth Games.

The Inter-County Champs are expected to return to the track and field calendar in 2023.
