Eilish to address our National Club Conference
Our National Club Conference takes place in Glasgow this Saturday – and we can’t wait for another important learning and networking session.
Triple Olympian Eilish McColgan and Team Scotland basketball star Kieron Achara, now working in sports development, are among our key presenters.
We’ve had to limit the number of delegates to a workable group and are delighted to say that all places ‘sold out’ (although places are free to our members).
Sharing good practice is part of the National Club Conference and to that end we will welcome Gala Harriers and Pitreavie AAC to give presentations.
The Young People’s Forum, now backed by the Athletics Trust Scotland, are also involved and indeed the overall theme of the day is about engaging and re-engaging youngsters into our sport.
scottishathletics Chair David Ovens will round off the afternoon session with what’s sure to be an absorbing Question and Answer session with Eilish.
‘Once again I would like to thank the clubs for all their support for Conference,’ said David Fallon, our Head of Development.
‘We are very much looking forward to Saturday for a great day of learning and collaboration. There’s a varied programme from our presenters but many of the themes will be consistent.
‘Getting together around the tables is all part of it, too, and often allows folk to share ideas and good practice in an informal way as well as attending the Conference sessions themselves.’
The National Club Conference is followed later in the evening by the 4J Annual Awards at the same Hilton Hotel venue in Glasgow.
