Book here for National Club Conference 2022
Triple Olympian and European and Commonwealth double medallist Eilish McColgan will make a special appearance at our 2022 National Club Conference.
Club reps are invited to join us Saturday 29 October at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow for another inspiring gathering and chance to learn and share good practice.
And we are delighted that Eilish will guest in our Question and Answer session – led by our Chair, David Ovens – towards the close of the programme on Saturday afternoon.
Eilish will chat about her club background with Dundee Hawkhill Harriers, the debt our elite athletes owe to grassroots volunteers and why she is passionate about helping the next generation and growing our sport.
Our National Club Conference is themed ‘Re-engaging Young People in Sport‘ and one of our main speakers earlier in the day will be Team Scotland basketball legend, Kieron Achara.
The day runs from 9.30am to 4pm and is free for members of scottishathletics affiliated clubs.
Due to our capacity limit, we are only able to accept a maximum of two delegates per affiliated club to ensure as many clubs as possible have the opportunity to attend.
Book here for Saturday 29 October (around 20 places remain)
Keynote Speaker
We are delighted to welcome 2012 Olympic athlete, and former professional basketball player, Kieron Achara MBE as our keynote speaker.
Kieron currently works with various organisations to champion positive wellbeing, mental health awareness, and diversity and inclusion. He will deliver a talk on ‘Thinking Differently to re-engage/engage with young people‘.
Workshops
Following the positive feedback received in 2021, we are privileged to once again have scottishathletics clubs at the forefront of our conference.
We will be joined by Gala Harriers AC and Pitreavie AAC who will be hosting workshops that will share their club development work, their good practice, and showcase some of their innovative approaches to their club operations and programmes.
There will be sessions with Kirsty McNab of Scottish Sports Futures, workshops run by our own Young People’s Forum, and plenty of opportunities for learning and sharing with other clubs and scottishathletics staff.
