New online resources available to develop the skills of our Officials

Thursday 1st June 2023

We are pleased to have updated our website with new resources to support our scottishathletics  Officials and their on-going learning.

Following the National Officials Training Day in April, we now have presentations from the day available online, for anyone who was unable to make the day or wishes to refresh their knowledge.

These can be accessed in the Officials section of the website, at https://www.scottishathletics.org.uk/officials/national-officials-training-day/.

We also now have available an online library of webinars given under the Communities of Good Practice initiative.

This is a collaboration of the four Home Countries Athletics Federations, working together to present CPD workshops for Officials via a series of webinars.

These can be viewed via our YouTube playlist with related documents and presentations available at https://www.scottishathletics.org.uk/officials/communities-of-good-practice.

Officials development officer Shona Malcolm (pictured) said: ‘It was fantastic to welcome so many officials to the training day in April, and I’d like to thank everyone who gave up their time to attend.

‘We’re pleased to be able to share these resources online, both from the Training Day and from our webinars, so that officials can continue to learn from home.

‘If anybody has particular topics they’d like to see covered in future, I’d encourage them to get in touch and let me know, and we’ll do our best to make appropriate resources available.’

** Officials training – Our programme of training courses for Officials will resume in the autumn.

Officials’ training can also be delivered for clubs upon request, on club training nights at your venues – please contact Officials Development Officer Shona Malcolm directly for more information.
