London Diamond League schedule
Top Scots are set to compete this weekend at the eagerly-awaited London Diamond League meeting.
It’s the final Diamond League meeting prior to the Olympics and will be important preparation for four Scots selected in the GB and NI team for Paris.
Laura Muir and Jemma Reekie are in the same race as they meet over 800m while Neil Gourley moves to the mile following a 3:30 run in the 1500m in Monaco.
Nicole Yeargin is selected for the 4x400m Relays for Paris and will feature with other British athletes in a 400m National race.
Joining Laura and Jemma in that Women’s 800m will be Erin Wallace, bronze medallist over the two-lap distance at the British Champs recently.
In the Para events, our two picks (so far) for the Paralympics will be in race action as Samantha Kinghorn competes in the 800m Wheelchair race and Ben Sandilands is in the ambulant 1500m.
Melanie Woods, who retains Paris selection hopes, joins Samantha in her race while Steven Bryce has another opportunity at 1500m to try and nail down a quick time ahead of the final round of Paralympic selections by UK Athletics.
In the field, Will Grimsey will feature in the Men’s High Jump with the British champion expected to soon confirm plans to retire this summer.
