Lindsays Trophy set for grand finale when clubs do battle in Falkirk at National XC

The Lindsays Trophy is ready for a grand finale at Falkirk next month.

And Edinburgh AC, who won the trophy in the first year of this participation competition, are out in front at the top of Tier One.

Entries are open now for the Lindsays National XC at Callendar Park on Saturday 21 February.

Finisher numbers for each club at Falkirk are added to their tallies for two previous events to give totals for Season 2025-26.

The current league tables are published in the pdf above and there are promotion and relegation battles ahead the Lindsays National XC.

Kilbarchan AAC lead the way in the second tier and the third table is headed at the moment by Calderglen Harriers.

Calling clubs: time to gather names for Falkirk

Here’s our short guide to the state of play across three divisions. . .

Tier One: Edinburgh AC lead on 140 with Giffnock North AC, the holders and regular winners, chasing on 122. Tied for third on 105 are Garscube Harriers and Glasgow Uni Hares and Hounds.

Completing the top five are Edinburgh Uni Hares and Hounds on 100 finishers so far.

Tier Two: Kilbarchan are the current leaders on 57 with Law and District AAC only three adrift on 54. Lying third at the moment are Inverclyde AC on 50 with Motherwell AC in fourth on 47.

Completing the top five are Stirling Uni AC on 46.

Tier Three: Calderglen Harriers are our leaders in the third tier on 34 with Perth Road Runners giving chase on 28. Third place for now is tie don 26 between Springburn Harriers and Team East Lothian.

Completing the top five are Cumbernauld AAC on 22.

Remember, the top four in Tier Two and Tier Three are promoted to the division above with four clubs relegated. All to play for via finisher numbers at Falkirk.
