scottishathletics began the delivery of the inaugural National Event Specific Grand Prix Series in the summer of 2018 – and this year’s version is now up and running!

The first series recognised individual athlete performances, club performances and club participation across track and field event disciplines, and provided an alternative to traditional league competition as well as catering for more athletes across a wider range of abilities.

There was significant interest in the series with a great deal of feedback throughout the consultation phase and early stages of the pilot.

Our National Event Specific GP Series Working Group have tried to incorporate as many suggestions as possible and are pleased to launch the 2019 edition of the series.

The first Throws GP in Inverness on April 14 was one of our first events for this year and the forthcoming FPSG District Champs and National Open events at Grangemouth, Kilmarnock and Inverness will contribute to the points tallies across the various age groups and event groups.

This downloadable document provides details of the Event Specific GP’s introduction in 2018 and information about the scoring.

New competition dates for 2019 can be found in this downloadable 2019 Event Specific Competition Calendar
