Report from Cumbernauld in 2017

The Lindsays Cross Country Season for 2018-19 will soon be with us – and Cumbernauld is the traditional first staging post for clubs, athletes and coaches in our programme of national and district events.

We’ve had a huge response to the District XC Relays taking place at three venues on Saturday 13 October – with more than 2100 names on lists. Thanks for the support!

And now we need clubs to get in touch with our events team for entry forms for the Lindsays National XC Relays at Cumbernauld on Saturday 27 October.

This is always one of the biggest days on our calendar and entry numbers have been fantastic over the past three or four years.

We would love to see that happen again for 2018 as we look to maximise our national championship events in terms of the experience for those involved and the promotion of the sport.

Inverclyde AC won the Men’s team golds last year at Cumbernauld as they held off the challenge of Aberdeen AAC, who took the silvers, with Central AC taking third.

Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds won the Women’s golds for the second successive year as they won from Central AC and Edinburgh AC.

The Young Females race was won by Edinburgh AC and the Young Males race was won by Giffnock North AC.
