Enter online for 5K Champs on May 4

The Scottish 5K Road Champs are happening on a Friday evening in early May in Edinburgh – and entries are now open.

Silverknowes Esplanade has been a regular venue for this championship event in recent years and the race, which is organised by Run and Become, has a reputation for delivering fast times over a flat course.

This year it will take place on Friday 4 May and entries are open at £12 and £10 for scottishathletics members. The race forms part of the scottishathletics Road Race Grand Prix.

The Run and Become Sri Chinmoy 5km road race at Silverknowes is quite simply acknowledged as one of the most competitive in depth short road races in the Scottish calendar.

Whatever your standard, the momentum of this event from start to finish line seems to bring the best out of everyone and gets the adrenaline flowing. Entry limited to 600 runners.

scottishathletics is fully committed to equality and ensuring that athletics is accessible to all including all characteristics held and protected by the Equality Act 2010.

And, as part of our ongoing work to uphold the principles and values of equality across our sport, we are currently seeking to establish an Equality and Diversity Advisory Group.

This will help assist us in leading the way. As part of this process, we are seeking to recruit three members who are committed and passionate about equality from a variety of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives, to form this Equality and Diversity Advisory Group.

The Group’s remit is to provide advice and guidance on all equality matters, ensuring practical, strategic and operational support is sustained for the development and delivery of our Equality Action plan, in addition to supporting our Staff Equality Working Group and Board Members in relation to equality and diversity.

As a member of the Equality and Diversity Advisory Group, the successful candidates will offer advice on all matters of equality, and specifically on one or more of the UK Equality Act 2010 protected characteristics.
