It is time for another family gathering amid cross country fun and friendship.
That’s the feeling generated each year at the Lindsays National XC Relays at Cumbernauld with an atmosphere befitting one of our biggest events.
Our 2026 edition will doubtless replicate the annual excitement with no fewer than 541 teams entered – a great response from our club community.
In fact, those are the best numbers for four years and it is encouraging to have 238 teams entered for the younger age group races.
Thank You for your support for events in the Lindsays Cross Country Season. It is much appreciated.
Teams chase medals in various categories across four races. This year, our Young Females and Young Males races will feature teams from U14, U16, U18 age groups.
In the Senior races, there are separate Masters medals and V50 medals, too.

Creating the right culture at our events is important to scottishathletics and we ask everyone to be respectful to the local community when parking or accessing the course.
Frankly, this has been an issue at Cumbernauld and we don’t want using this venue to be jeopardised via bad behaviour by a minority.
Please use the parking at Greenfaulds High School and our park-and-ride facility with buses to and from the course. Greenfaulds station is also a pick-up and drop-off point.
We’re planning significant coverage from the Lindsays National XC Relays as we seek to project our major cross country events to a wider audience.
There will be video, photos and online reporting from Cumbernauld – please join in with likes and shares on the regular hashtag #LindsaysXC.
As always at Cumbernauld, there are a number of competitive elements at play across the mud and hills . . .
*The Cross Country Team Challenge continues as Senior teams at our clubs compete for top prize of £250 in the Men’s and Women’s division.
*The Lindsays Trophy for 2026-27 kicks off in the now familiar three division format. Via their number of overall finishers, clubs will battle for places over events at Cumbernauld this weekend, Kirkcaldy on November 7 and then at Falkirk next February.
Edinburgh AC won the 2026 Lindsays Trophy (Tier One) for last season with no fewer than 211 finishers across three events. Giffnock North were second witht 194 and Garscube Harriers took third on 176.
