SUPERteams is a scottishathletics event for our youngest athletes and it is coming up on Sunday 7 February at the Emirates Arena.
And we are now looking for entries from clubs to be with us (via email and post) by midnight on Monday 25 January.
Forms can be downloaded on the Events section page.
Teams of four boys or four girls compete in four events during the course of the day. Those events are a 60m sprint, shot putt throw, long jump and then a 4 x 200m relay.
The whole idea of the SUPERteams is as a development event for our very youngest athletes – having fun while learning events and competing as teams within a club framework.
It is always a great day for the youngsters and we are asking clubs now to use the forms online and submit entries of teams of four. The timetable that day runs from 10am to 3.40pm (one of the reasons for that is there are regulations about giving athletes of this young age time to recover between events).
Here is the detail from the Events page on the Age Group:
SUPERteams are for athletes Under 12. Therefore, to be eligible for SUPERteams athletes must be born between 1 Sept 2004 and 31 Aug 2006.
Athletes must also be members of scottishathletics and therefore be aged nine or over.
