Exciting hill running season ahead
Scotland’s best Junior Hill Runners will gather this weekend for the Ben Lomond Junior Races at Rowardennan.
The event takes place on Saturday (6 April) with entries on the day only and open from 11am.
These races form part of the scottishathletics 2019 Junior Hill Running League. The League categories are U15, U17 and U20 (see age groups below).
Runners are asked to meet at the car park at the road end, Rowardennan, Loch Lomond. Please note that this car park costs and can fill up early. Please car share if possible.
Races are as follows:
12 noon: FUN RUN: For all ages, U8s must be accompanied. 1.7km, 80m climb.
12.20: U15 (born 2005 or 2006). 2.6km, 160m climb. (n.b. younger athletes who are over 12 on the day can run in this race, but will not count for the league. Both sexes).
12.50: U17 (born 2003 or 2004) 4.3km, 240m climb.
13.30: U20 (born 2000 – 2002). 6.3km, 380m climb .
Course terrain is a mixture of well made-up tourist path, smaller paths and a section which descends through the woods, which can be muddy and wet.
