Scotland will send six athletes to the next British Cross Challenge event.
Antrim’s Greenmount Campus is the venue for IAAF-accredited international races on Saturday 14 January as well as being part of the British series.
And Scotland will be represented by three men and three women at Senior level, with the Road Running and Cross Country Commission selection policy allowing for up to six athletes to travel for what is a cross country competition opportunity. There is no actual team event in Antrim.
West XC Champions Andy Douglas and Nicola Hood make the selections with East XC Champion, Morag MacLarty, also lined up for another international appearanc. For Nicola, from Dumfries Running Club, this is a very welcome return to Scotland selection following a fine comeback season in cross country.
Scotland Men: Andy Douglas (Inverclyde AC), Lachlan Oates (Shettleston Harriers), Jamie Crowe (Central AC).
Scotland Women: Morag MacLarty (Central AC), Steph Pennycook (Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds), Nicola Hood (Dumfries RC).
Congratulations to the six athletes selected for this event and their families and coaches, as well as the clubs involved in their development over a number of years.
