‘Challenging times, but evidence shows we are back on right path’ – Colin Hutchison column
The first edition of PB magazine for 2023 has been issued to our scottishathletics members.
It has been a really hectic period since our last issue memorably captured success for Scots at three major championship events last summer.
This time our front cover takes in British Record breaker Eilish McColgan and European Indoor medallists, Laura Muir and Neil Gourley.
We have coverage from a thrilling Lindsays National XC as well as the 4J Senior Indoors and the British Champs.
Writer Katy Barden meets Katie Purves for an extremely candid interview in which the Edinburgh AC athlete opens up about mental health issues and urges young athletes, and their coaches, to seek out help when needed.
We also have feature pieces on Team East Lothian, ultra runner Jo Wilson (formerly Jo Murphy) and our Officials. There’s a special look at the revival of Scottish sprinting via interviews with Taylah Paterson (formerly Taylah Spence) and coach Ryan Oswald.
Hill runner Naomi Lang is in the spotlight, too, and in special features on the Transforming Lives project set up by Athletics Trust Scotland, we focus on Derek Rae, Nicola Russell and Iain ‘Windy’ Miller.
