Isla Hedley of Fife AC
Six young athletes will represent Scotland in international hill running next month.
We are delighted to now confirm the selections for the International Youth Cup which takes place in Saluzzo in Italy on Sunday 26 June.
Athletes competed in our trial race at Alva on Sunday and that led to automatic selections for Angus Wright of Team East Lothian and Fife AC’s Isla Hedley.
Four other athletes will join them to complete teams of three men and three women. The course in Italy will be over 4.3k and feature 155m of ascent/descent.
Scotland selections for International Youth Cup:
Women: Esme Dougall (Giffnock North); Isla Hedley (Fife AC); Natasha Phillips (Dundee Hawkhill Harriers)
Men: Jonathon Downey (Kilmarnock Harriers); Harris Pagett (Strathearn Harriers); Angus Wright (Team East Lothian)
It’s good to see six different clubs represented and a good geographical spread across Scotland.
We send our warm congratulations to these six athletes selected and to their coaches, families and the clubs who have helped in their development over the years
With thanks to Angela Mudge
