Events section: championships lists
The 2022 track and field season is up and running – and 4J Studios National Championship events are coming soon!
Our Events team have been working with our Track and Field Commission and our Officials Commission, as well as facility operators, to set-up dates and venues for a whole host of meetings across various age groups and disciplines.
A number of different track and field facilities are due to host our events and the culmination will be in August with the 4J Seniors and U17s over one weekend, followed by the 4J Age Groups for U20/U15/U13 a couple of weeks later.
It all starts in mid-May with the 4J District Champs and National Open Graded – as they return for the first time since 2019.
Inverness, Grangemouth and Kilmarnock are the venues for these events and entries are open via the Events section calendar pages.
Please note we will be requiring assistance from club volunteers to make these events happen. Look out for our appeals in this regard later in April (we will be asking for three volunteers from each club to help out at the Districts and National Open Gradeds).

‘We are really looking forward to the 2022 4J Outdoor Season and fully expect to be able to deliver the national championship events which our members enjoy,’ said Alasdhair Love.
‘Our Events team has been working with the Track and Field Commission and the Officials Commission and I’d like to thank them for their support. We will be asking clubs for volunteer helpers to stage events in mid-May.
‘Two years ago in the summer of 2020 there were a lot of restrictions and Covid issues but with huge support from the sport we were able to put on a number of small scale Open events.
‘Then, last year, the Districts and National Open Gradeds we would normally put on in May had to be shelved as clubs and facilities emerged from lockdown.
‘Thankfully, we were up and running thereafter with all the other national championship events staged through to the National Club Relays at Linwood in September which drew a record number of teams entered.
‘We’ve seen momentum recover during the 4J Indoor Season and it definitely feels as if our community are excited to compete, Officiate, coach and spectate this summer. I’m sure big events like the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham will further whet the appetite.’
