Scottish Student Sport staged their annual XC Champs in Dundee on Saturday – with Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds taking the team golds in both races.
The Camperdown Park course presented a tough challenge for students from numerous institutions across Scotland as the men raced 9.6k and the women over 6.4k.
Jack Leitch of Edinburgh Uni had posted a fine sub-30 10k PB in Leeds a week earlier, and he maintained that form with a fine run to take gold in 31.45. American athlete Kevin Wood, who is studying at St Andrew’s, landed silver in 32.07 with Stirling’s Hamish Hickey only three seconds adrift for the bronze.
Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds were by far the dominant force in the team race with 28 points for four counters as Strathclyde Uni edged out rivals Glasgow Uni for the silver medals with 66 points to 68 points.
Edinburgh’s winning team featured Leitch, Callum Tharme, Daniel Stansfield and Alex Muir.

Aberdeen University took the silver medals and Strathclyde Uni landed the bronzes.
