RaceRunning trio grab a share of our £1000 Para prize pot

Scotland’s three RaceRunning GB and NI internationals won European medals in Berlin last summer and were delighted to grace Grangemouth at the FPSG Seniors.

And Kayleigh Haggo, Hannah Dines and Gavin Drysdale lived up to their billings with fine performances over 100m.

Each of them came up with times which met the performance standards set by scottishathletics for the £1000 Para prize pot.

Hannah clocked 19.73, Kayleigh was at 18.06 and Gavin recorded 17.29.

‘I’m delighted we’re getting a share of the prize pot money,’ said Hannah.

‘I’ve been in sport for six years and I’ve been to the Paralympics (in another discipline) and the Europeans last year in RaceRunning – and I’ve never had the opportunity before to win prize money.

‘It’s brilliant and ground-breaking of scottishathletics to be doing this kind of thing and all three of us are really proud to represent athletics in Scotland.’

In the Para races, there was a CBP in Men’s ambulant 100m from Matthew Power. The Livingston athlete clocked 11.72 seconds. Second-placed Steven Stone, of Falkirk Vics, was also inside the previous CBP with 11.76 seconds.

Gateshead athlete Emily Stewart won the women’s ambulant 100m. Matthew Craig of Forth Valley Flyers won the mixed seated discus throw with 19.90m.
