Giving Back to Track: Eilish grants give support to young athletes
Eilish McColgan set up her Giving Back to Track programme a few years ago to help the next generation of female Scottish athletes.
And there is clear evidence of the project ‘doing what it says on the tin’ in the Glasgow 2026 Team Scotland selection.
Sprint duo Lucy Fraser, who is with the Women’s 4x100m relay squad, and Rebecca Grieve, who is with our Mixed 4x400m Relay squad, are both current recipients of grants from Eilish and her partner Michael Rimmer.
Four other athletes in the 39-strong have been previous recipients for grants from Giving Back to Track.

‘We set up the foundation shortly after the last Commonwealth Games, so it’s great to see the impact it’s made in such a short space of time,’ said Eilish.
‘It will be a first Commonwealth Games for all six of those athletes and my last so it is a proper full-circle moment.’
