Clubs from across Scotland descended on Kilmarnock on Saturday for our 4J SUPERteams National Final.

The event at Ayrshire Athletics Arena was the conclusion of our popular competition for U12s following four regional heats in April & May.

The team-based competition is designed to be a fun and inclusive introduction to athletics for our youngest athletes. The emphasis is on trying new events, club representation and celebrating together.

This year, a total of 39 teams from 23 clubs contested across 4 events; 75m sprint, long jump, javelin and 4 x 100m relay.

Athletes compete in mixed gender teams of four. With some clubs fielding multiple teams, points were awarded for the top two boys and top two  girls from each club.

While Giffnock North AC A team emerged as our winners, results were very close with just five points separating the next three teams.

Learning is key and it was great to see comments from clubs on our social media channels expressly thanking Officials for their help. That’s #SALtogether !

Thanks to all our clubs, coaches and team managers, as well as our volunteers and Officials for supporting the event.

1 Giffnock North AC A (1465 points)

2 Harmeny AC A (1395 points)

3 Gala Harriers A (1392 points)
