Central and Edinburgh AC retain their East League XC titles

East District Cross County League‘s final event of its 101st year took place at Bathgate.

Inter District champion Jamie Crowe (Central AC) won the Senior Men’s race with Hamish Hickey (Central) second and Logan Rees (Fife) taking third.

Central packed their scoring six in the first 12 places to once again retain the Senior league. Fife were second on the day with Corstorphine third.

In the Senior Women’s race there was another 1-2 for Central with Morag Millar winning and Grace Whelan taking second.

Kirsty Walker in third place helped Edinburgh AC to retain the Senior Women’s league over the season. On the day for Senior Women teams were Central first, Edinburgh second and Corstorphine third.

In the Young athletes races there were first ever league trophies over the season for Banchory Stonehaven in the U11 Girls and Dunfermline Track and Field in the U13 boys.

A total of 724 athletes finished in all races at Bathgate. Thanks to host clubs at Bathgate, Edinburgh AC, Corstorphine AAC and Harmeny AC and to Dundee Hawkhill who were host club at the Dundee meeting and Fife AC hosts at Kirkcaldy.
