Ben Sandilands has posted a new European Record in the Men’s T20 classification over 5000m.

The Paralympic champion competed at the British Unis (BUCS) event in Manchester over a weekend which featured a number of Scottish medals.

There were golds for Adam Hoole, Sarah Calvert and Freya Howgate. Hoole, Howgate and Cameron Thores all enjoyed double medal success.

As well as the medallists listed below there were a number of PB performance and fourth and fifth place finishes.

Fife AC athlete Ben clocked 14:20.14 for seventh place (and top Scot) in the BUCS 5000m final. We understand that is a nine second improvement on the European Record for T20 in the event.

Congratulations to Ben, his family, coach Steve Doig and all involved in his development over a number of years.
