There was a special moment for four young female Scottish athletes at the Loughborough International.
A team of four teenagers were believed to have the capability to break some age groups records should they get the baton round successfully.
And so it proved at the Paula Radcliffe Stadium as the team post a rapid 45.91 seconds thanks to the efforts of (in running order) : Tehillah Ikechukwu-Okonkwo, Sophie Thomas, Emma Clark and Kishi Aremu.
We’ve now learned that this will be recognised as a British U18 Best once the formal paperwork processes are completed.
The performance is similarly a Scottish Women’s U17 Record and, indeed, a Scottish Women’s 20 best.
Many congratulations to the athletes and their coaches and clubs Law and District AAC (Tehillah), Dunfermline Track and Field (Sophie), Whitemoss AAC (Emma) and Livingston AC (Kishi)
With thanks to Allan Scott
