Belgrade-bound: Four Scots are picked for World Cross
Four Scots head for Serbia this weekend for the World Cross Country Champs in Belgrade.
The representation within the GB and NI team is one of the best for many years – with only the five Scots selected in 2010 having topped the tally of four in just over 20 years.
Alice Goodall and Scott Stirling will compete in the Senior races in Serbia with Natasha Phillips and Craig Shennan with the British teams for the Junior races.
We congratulate these athletes again on their selection and their families, coaches and clubs. We wish you well for this weekend in Belgrade.
One in each of these age groups reflects well on the pathway in Scotland and all four are racing for the first time at a World Cross. For Scott and Craig, this is their first selection by British Athletics.
And it has been good to see over the past few days significant media coverage for our selected Scots – with that exposure hopefully helping to inspire and motivate others.
