There is a busy weekend of cross country action coming up around Scotland – and an historic one.
We are reliably informed that league fixtures taking place in the East, North and West on the same day is a first for our sport.
The newly-formed West District XC League is effectively accountable for that with their opening event taking place in Strathaven.
East Kilbride AC are the host club and well done to Richard Leyton and all the West District XC League team for working so hard to get this up and running (after being mooted by clubs for many years).

East League athletes are well-versed in their fixtures, of course, and the second meeting of the season is being staged at Camperdown Park in Dundee and hosted by Dundee Hawkhill Harriers.
This follows on from the opening fixture at Hawick hosted by Teviotdale Harriers.

The North XC League is also at the second (of five) planned events with Ross County AC the hosts this weekend.
This follows on from the opening fixture at Nairn.

As always, we say thanks in advance to the host clubs for these events and all the volunteers and Endurance Officials involved in making them happen around the country.

Event info
As athletes from numerous clubs compete at these league meetings, students from across Scotland are due in Glasgow for the Scottish Student Sport XC Champs.
Alexandra Park (near the M8 in the city centre) is the venue for an event which is always keenly contested both by individuals and by teams.
Good luck to all the university and college students set to compete on Saturday in Glasgow and to the event organisers and helpers.
