Enter Tru Wealth 10-Mile Champs; North 10k; Scotland vests

Entries are open for the Tom Scott Road Races – which will host the Tru Wealth Scottish 10-Mile Championships.

It’s the first time in three years that this event has been planned and Sunday 3 April is the date to remember.

The Tom Scott Road Races start and finish from their traditional home of Strathclyde Park.

As in years past, the 10 mile race will count as both the West District 10 Mile Championships and the Scottish 10 Mile Championships. There is a limit of 500 runners.

The event’s other race, the Round the Loch 6K, suits runners of all abilities aged 13+ looking for a shorter challenge. There is a limit of 100 runners for this race.

Although there have been a few changes to the race routes over the years, 2022 marks the 58th edition of the event.

Enter Nairn 10k

The North District 10k road champs are coming up early this month with the event confirmed for Nairn.

Sunday 6 March is the date for the popular Nairn 10k event organised by Nairn Road Runners.

And it has now been confirmed via our Road Running and Cross Country Commission that North District Championship medals for teams and individuals will be up for grabs that day.

There is an entry limit of 450 for the main race and there is also a Fun Run open to athletes aged nine years and above.

Cardiff Half Marathon

Scotland will be back in international action in road running at the end of March.

We are making plans to send teams of men and women to the Cardiff Half Marathon event in Wales on Sunday 27 March.

It is new road running international opportunity after obvious challenges in that area of the sport during Covid-19 and a number of event cancellations.

Our Endurance Manager, Mark Nixon, is now asking for expressions of interest from athletes ahead of a selection date at the end of February.

*Team size: Up to four men and four women

*Selection will be based upon all-known form over 10km, half-marathon, and marathon distances during the period of 1 March 2021 – 20 February 2022 (More weighting will be given to more recent performances)
