It was quite a day at the at the 4J Scottish Masters 3000m Champs as two World Records were delivered in Glasgow.

Fiona Matheson took almost five seconds off the Record she had set a week ago in England with a superb performance of 10:56.89.

The Falkirk Victoria Harriers athlete, who ran 11:01.55 the previous week in Sheffield, once again emphatically proved her class in the W60 category.

And Alastair Walker of Teviotdale Harriers replicated that achievement in the M65 men’s category with a typically superb run.

Alastair for his part clocked 9:59.02 to take that particular mark down below ten minutes for the first time ever (with the previous best having stood for seven years).

Many congratulations to Fiona and Alastair on awesome Masters performances with world class times to add to Scottish 1000m age group medals.
