scottishathletics are delighted to short-list three clubs for the Janice Eaglesham MBE Para Development Club of the Year award.

We introduced this special award in 2020 as a vehicle to help highlight and celebrate an inclusive approach by our clubs.

Perth Strathtay Harriers emerged from our short-list at that time to collect the award for the first time.

Rather than it being a one-off, however, there was a clear plan for the Janice Eaglesham MBE Para Development Club of the Year award to be presented every year in order to build momentum.

The 2021 winners will be revealed at our 4J Annual Awards Dinner on Saturday 9 October and congratulations to the following three nominated clubs:

*Fife AC

*Forth Valley Flyers

*Red Star AC

The award also marks Janice’s considerable presence and influence in this area in encouraging an inclusive approach and indeed founding Red Star AC a number of years ago.

‘I’m really pleased we are presenting this award for the second time this year,’ said Pamela Robson, our National Disability Pathway Officer.

‘Janice was one of Scotland’s most influential individuals within disability sport. She was involved in athletics for over 30 years and during this time she motivated and inspired those around her, from coaches to volunteers, clubs to athletes.

‘The award helps us rightly celebrate the efforts made by clubs to motivate, inspire and develop the provision for athletes with a disability, just as Janice did.

‘Good luck to our three nominated clubs this year and well done to them on the excellent work they are doing and example they are setting.’
