HLM trio receive presentations; Sad passing of Iain Robertson

With Covid-19 restrictions denying us the opportunity to stage our Annual Dinner last year, we sought make amends in terms of our Honorary Life Memberships at the 4J Studios Senior/U17 Champs.

And, as you might expect, our three recipients were all very much involved that weekend at Grangemouth as hard-working Officials!

Well done to Moira Maguire, Joyce Wighton and David Finlayson on their (belated) presentations.

No doubt all three will be involved again at the 4J Studios Age Groups in Aberdeen.

There’s deep sadness across the athletics community in Scotland this week following news of the passing of Iain Robertson.

Iain was a big figure in the sport for many years as revered coach and team manager in the 1970s and 1980s.

He coached a number of top Scottish athletes and that list would include Sam Wallace, Val Smith, Angela Bridgeman, Sandra Whittaker and Melanie Neef.

We don’t have any further details at the moment but will advise on Iain’s funeral as and when that becomes available.
