Calling all clubs!
Our 4J Studios Virtual Challenge series has been a big hit with our members during lockdown over the past few weeks.
And we’re already taking entries for the next event, which is due to happen over four days from Friday 10 July through to 11.59pm on Monday 13 July.
It’s the 4J Studios Virtual Challenge Relay 2 and there really is something for everyone this time as we look to broaden the appeal of relays to various age groups.
There are 10k and 5k leg options over six stages for U20/Senior/Masters athletes as well as a Master 50+ option with four stages.
There is a four-stage event with 5k and 3k legs for U17/U15/U13 age groups.
And we’ve also set-up a four-stage for our U13 athletes with each runner to take on 3k.

Submission of Results Deadline 12 noon Tuesday 14 July
Important Rules:
No Point-2-Point Runs/No Laps less than 1k
Start and Finish at same point/No Net Loss in Elevation

Challenge Details:
Six-Stage Relay – 3 Long (10km) and 3 Medium (5km) Legs – U20/Senior/Masters (40+)
Four-Stage Relay – 2 Long (10km) and 2 Medium (5km) Legs – Masters (50+)
Four-Stage Relay – 2 Medium (5km) and 2 Short (3km) Legs – U17/U15/U13
Four-Stage Relay – 4 Short (3km) Legs – U13
*U13 Athletes are limited to 3km Short Legs only
*Masters performances will be eligible for teams in category 1 and 2
*U13 performances will be eligible for teams in category 3 and 4
Entry
Registration is through the scottishathletics online club or individual portal
Entry is FREE to scottishathletics affiliated members; alternatively, athletes may choose to DONATE £2 to ongoing admin costs for our virtual events.
Club Entries are FREE or £2 per athlete to a limit of £15 per age group.
Non-member entry is £5 per athlete or £7 to include a donation.
Entry is open to athletes in the U13, U15, U17, U20, Senior and Masters age groups. Age groups are based on the current 2019-20 road competition year.

Scoring Categories
Six Stage Relay – 3 Medium and 3 Long Legs (U20, Senior, Masters)
This category ranks teams of 6 athletes over 3 Medium (5km) and 3 Long (10km) Legs.
Four Stage Relay – 2 Medium and 2 Long Legs (Masters Aged 50 and Over)
This team category ranks teams of 4 athletes over 2 Medium (5km) and 2 Long (10km) Legs.
Four Stage Relay – 2 Short and 2 Medium Legs (U17, U15 and U13)
This team category ranks teams of 4 athletes over 2 Short (3km U13/U15/U17) and 2 Medium (5km U15/U17 Only) Legs.
Four Stage Relay – 4 Short Legs (U13 Only)
This team category ranks teams of 4 athletes over 4 Short (3km) Legs.
Results
*Performances should be submitted online to scottishathletics by the athlete taking part and state the time elapsed for the individual leg.
*Athletes must make their runs PUBLICon their Garmin/Strava profile to allow results scrutiny.
*Club results are calculated using combined valid runs by registered club members within the challenge timeframe.
*In the team categories, the fastest athletes from the same club will contribute to the ‘A’ team. The next best results will make up the club’s ‘B’ team, and so on to include all athletes competing. Clubs can enter as many athletes as they wish.
