WATCH: Coaching Conversations series – the full playlist

World Cup 2018 bronze medallist and World Championship 2019 finalist Neil Gourley is our latest guest in our superb Coaching Conversations video series.

In each instalment we publish an extended interview with a top Scottish athlete on our scottishathletics YouTube channel.

Then it will be your turn to ask the questions of Neil in a special Twitter session via the hashtag #askSAL this Friday (May 29) at 4pm.

We are back with Coaching Conversations after taking a week’s break following the first five interviews in this informative and absorbing series.

This time, Neil chats to Sue Gyford about his early years at Giffnock North AC before his move to the United States to first study at Virginia Tech and then become a professional athlete in Oregon.

Clare Stevenson and Gordon Lockie were Neil’s coaches at Giffnock and he highlights their significant role in his early development. In America, Ben Thomas was his college coach and remains his coach now he is with Oregon Track Club in Eugene.

Now we need your questions for the Twitter takeover Q and A and we do hope #askSAL will appeal to all sections of the athletics community in Scotland from athletes to coaches to parents as well as our volunteers and Officials.

This is a brilliant opportunity for the athletics community in Scotland to find out more about Neil and his background, success and goals.

So, watch the YouTube video with Neil and then post a question on Twitter, using the hashtag #askSAL.

We will look through the questions submitted and post answers on scottishathletics Twitter on Wednesday from 5pm.
