Nairn 10k – Media coverage in Inverness Courier
An excellent race at Nairn between Sean Chalmers of Inverness Harriers and Kenny Wilson of Moray Road Runners saw the North District 10K title go the way of Chalmers for the first time.
Inter-District XC champion Chalmers eventually made a break at 8K and took the honours in 30:46 with Wilson, also under 31 minutes in difficult conditions on 30:57.
Tracking them both for the first 5K was British Indoor 1500m fifth placer Stephen MacKay of Inverness, who moved well up distance to take third place in a near two minute PB of 31:28.
Another Inverness runner, Donnie MacDonald, was the top V40 on 33:10.
Jenny Bannerman ran 35:33 to take the women’s title from fellow Inverness runner Amy Hudson (37:06) with Moray’s Michelle Slater taking bronze as well as V40 gold in 40:51.
