As over 1100 endurance athletes brave the mud over in Stirling this Saturday, our throws community have stepped up with a strong entry for the inaugural scottishathletics Winter Throws Meet at Grangemouth Stadium.
In total, 63 athletes from clubs the length and breadth of Scotland and south of the border have signed up to compete in a rare opportunity to throw at this time of the year.
We’re delighted to see some of our top athletes on the start list including Commonwealth athlete Rachel Hunter (North Ayrshire AC) in the Hammer and U17 Javelin record holder Kiera Waddell (Edinburgh AC) also signed up to throw. Keira is continuing her return after being injured last year.
The competition kicks off at 9.45am and as always scottishathletics is indebted to the support of our officials, volunteers and Falkirk Community Trust without whom such events could not take place.
Start lists and timetable can be found in the event page of the scottishathletics website.
