The scottishathletics National Club Conference was a big success once again for 2019 – with around 100 delegates gathering during Saturday prior to the FPSG Awards Dinner.
Lord Jack McConnell and Guy Richardson of Eiger Perform were among our key speakers on a day when there was a great chance also for clubs to network informally.
In the afternoon, the trio of Robert, Derek and Callum Hawkins gave an insight into the pathway from club to high level international athletes with the marathon runners of course closely associated with Kilbarchan AAC.
There were also presentations from Central AC, North Ayrshire AC and Cumbernauld AAC with representatives of those clubs asked to help share good practice with others.
Kit suppliers Joma were in attendance at the Hilton during the Club Conference and there’s now a very significant number of our clubs setting up their own arrangements around kit and leisurewear for athletes, coaches and parents.
Thanks to all who attended on Saturday and to those who presented.
Thanks to all the club leaders who joined us today & made it a great event. Special mention to those that presented @Central_AC @NAathleticsclub @CumbernauldA @LordMcConnell @Eiger_Perform @callhawk @DelH1989 @scotathletics @SALMarkMunro @scotshurdler @LindsayMcMaho15

IT is with deep regret and sadness that we once again confirm the passing of another real stalwart of the sport in Scotland – scottishathletics Official Kenny Marshall.
Kenny sadly passed away late last week after taking ill a few days earlier. The Lasswade AC member had been officiating since 1982 to make a huge contribution to our sport.
Funeral details have been forwarded to scottishathletics from Kenny’s daughter, Angela, and all are welcome to attend at either venue
