T
he cross country season is almost with us and the first significant events of the winter will take place on Saturday 12 October.
Three venues are involved for the scottishathletics District XC Relays which clubs traditionally use to help form teams for the Lindsays National XC Relays at Cumbernauld a couple of weeks later.
With Lindsays now on board for another four years as our sponsors, excitement is rising for the season ahead and we would love to see big entry numbers for the events on October 12 with the East at Livingston, the West at Kilmarnock and the North at Gordonstoun.
So clubs, coaches and team managers are urged to start gathering names for the District XC Relays with more information on three venues on our Event section.
Entries are open until midnight on Thursday 26 September.
As we switch over to a new entry system for cross country, there are a few points for clubs to note.
* At the point of entry, anyone wishing to race in the District XC Relays has to have up-to-date scottishathletics membership on race day
*Clubs will receive ONE set of log-in details for their new Club Portal, which they can choose to share with team managers/coaches as required. Club secretaries should check their emails for details.
*East District XC Relay entries are online as a pilot (to help us roll out the system in full at a later date)
*In the West and North, club managers are asked to log into their portal to check membership status for those athletes wishing to compete at Kilmarnock and Gordonstoun. Entries will be taken through a spreadsheet as in previous years, which can be requested by signing up on the fixture pages for each venue.
