scottishathletics are delighted to confirm that there will be a really strong Scottish presence on the officiating team at the Glasgow 2019 European Indoors.

No fewer than 34 of our qualified scottishathletics Officials have been selected for the event, which takes place at the Emirates Arena on March 1-3.

It is another feather in the cap for our dedicated and hard-working Officials, many of whom were on duty at global events down south in the past couple of years like the London 2017 World Champs, the IPC World Para Champs and the Birmingham 2018 World Indoors.

And it proves once again how Scottish Officials can climb through the pathway – if they so wish – which often starts by helping out at club events at local level.

‘Many congratulations to each and every one of our 34 Scottish Officials who will be on duty at Glasgow 2019,’ said Margaret Brown, convenor of our Officials Commission.

‘It’s always nice to see hard work and commitment over the years being rewarded with this kind of opportunity.

‘This time that’s for a top European event right here in Scotland and I’m absolutely certain many of these Officials will also be helping make the FPSG Indoor Season run smoothly for scottishathletics prior to that in January and February. It will be a busy time but very rewarding, as well.’
