Callum Hawkins landed the FPSG Athlete of the Year trophy at our annual awards dinner last year – and now we want you to join us for the 2018 event in Glasgow in November.
This year’s FPSG Annual Awards will be held at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow and it will be a really special occasion this year with Dame Kelly Holmes as our Guest of Honour.
Tickets are on sale now at £45 per person or a table of ten for £425. These are already being snapped up by clubs and last year’s event sold out long before the deadline. So make sure you don’t miss out on a great night.
As we look to the FPSG Awards Dinner, of course, nominations are really important to us to help pull together short-lists in various categories in order to celebrate and acknowledge success and commitment in our sport.
A number of submissions have already been received across categories for Clubs, Coaches, Volunteer and Technical Official – thank you – and we’d love a few more before the closing deadline of 5pm on Friday.
More details on those awards are listed below – and the link to the nominations form is at the top of this article.
Impact Club of the Year
In recognition of the great work that is going on in athletics clubs across Scotland this Award will recognise the club that has made a major impact over the last 12 months
Off-Track Club of the Year
This Award will recognise the club that has shown development in off-track events (hill, cross-country, fell, road); meets the needs of all athletes at every age and stage of their development, from introduction through to performance; and demonstrates an innovative approach to competition, supporting their athletes in gaining experience in off-track running
Track and Field Club of the Year
This Award will recognise the club that has shown development in track and field; meets the needs of all athletes at every age and stage of their development, from introduction through to performance; and demonstrates an innovative approach to competition, supporting their athletes in gaining experience in track and field.
The coach awards are split to recognise the expertise of coaches working at every stage of the athlete’s development. The coach awards are:
Club Coach of the Year
This award recognises the contribution of the thousands of coaches delivering regular training sessions in our member clubs.
Development Coach of the Year (12 years +)
This award recognises the coach who has had an impact on the development and performances of the athlete(s) they are working with.
NB: Only coaches who are members of scottishathletics and who are suitably licensed by UKA will be eligible for this category of awards.
Volunteer of the Year
This award allows us to reflect on the great impact of the thousands of volunteers that contribute to the development of athletics clubs in Scotland every year and recognise one individual as our Volunteer of the Year.
Technical Official of the Year
Behind every performance there is an official, this award recognises the large number of people that are involved in the delivery of competition at all levels of our sport and the people within clubs.
The input of technical officials to provide enjoyable competition is an integral part of athletics, and EVERY club has people who are working tirelessly to provide meaningful events for athletes at every stage of their athletics career.
NB: Only technical officials who are members of scottishathletics and who are suitably licensed by UKA will be eligible for this category of awards.
Nominations for Athlete of the Year and Performance Coach of the Year are closed nominations, chosen by the relevant selection committees.
A SEPARATE FORM IS TO BE USED FOR EACH CATEGORY.
The deadline for nominations is 5pm on Friday 14 September 2018
