Enter the 6/4 Road Relays

Calling all clubs! The Scottish National Road Relays are back at Livingston once again this year – with the event to take place on Sunday 25 March.

So we are now looking for entries from clubs for the Men’s Six-Stage and Women’s Four-Stage races happening that day.

It has been another very busy winter of indoor and cross country action, but the Road Relays is always one our best-supported events and we’d love to see that maintained in 2018.

In a change for 2018, the races at Almondvale start at 12 noon for men and 12.10pm for women that day. Changing and declarations at St Margaret’s Academy, Almondvale, Livingston. Once again we would like to thank West Lothian Council for their outstanding – and long-standing – support for this event.

Entry forms and all the key information is online on the Events Section and we are taking these by post or by email:

Entry forms for Greenock

Greenock will host the Young Athletes Road Races in March – and this year once again there’s the chance for athletes in the older age groups to win the chance to race for Scotland in London.

It’s happening at Battery Park in Greenock beside the Clyde on Sunday 18 March, with six races that day in the U17, U15 and U13 age groups.

The London Mini Marathon changed their approach to entries a couple of years ago and the earlier deadline for team names ensured the Scottish Young Athletes Road Races could not be used for selection trial purposes at that time.

However, that has now changed again, and we are pleased to highlight that the races at Greenock on March 18 will now once form the key trials for the four Scotland teams (of six athletes each) to be selected for the London Mini Marathon.

These are for U17 and U15 races and the first four athletes across the line in those age groups will be selected for London with two more discretionary slots.

Age group brackets from the London Mini Marathon are as follows: U15 DoB 01/09/02 to 31/8/04 and U17 DoB 23/04/00 to 31/8/02.

*The U17 age group has been extended a little from previous years. Athletes who are eligible at the upper end will be considered for the two discretionary places if they have 5K road form around the time of the Greenock races.

Please email expressions of interest to Neil Renton: nrenton@liveborders.org.uk

We’ve a series of Jog Leader courses coming up at various locations.

So we’d love to see folk signing up for Bonnyrigg on March 3; Livingston on March 17; Lossiemouth on March 24 and Aberdeen on March 25.
