Calling all clubs: Scottish Running Week
We previously announced that Scottish Running Week will return again this year between 1-7 June 2026.
The annual week-long celebration of running led by Athletics Trust Scotland is back this summer and this year the theme is community.
We are encouraging the athletics and running community across Scotland to organise activities to celebrate the sport we love and fundraise for the charity’s work to make it more accessible for all.
Whatever you choose to do, you will be helping to change lives through the power of athletics and running.
A huge thank you to the clubs and jog groups up and down the country which have already committed to Scottish Running Week. These include:
Inverclyde AC
Inverclyde AC is hosting the popular Loch Thom Trail Race on Wednesday 3 June. This year, the race will take place on a stunning new route which takes in the best of the local scenery around Greenock Cut.
With generous sponsorship from ProTay (who also kindly sponsored Athletics Trust Scotland’s Commonwealth Games-themed panel event in February), all funds raised will go directly to charity.
North Glasgow Clubs
Four clubs based in North Glasgow – Garscube Harriers, West End Road Runners, Springburn Harriers and Maryhill Harriers – will take each other on at a Parkrun mob match on Saturday 7 June. With points for participation, volunteering and supporting (as well as the all-important bake sale and cake sampling), it’s set to be a fun and inclusive morning for all involved!
Kilmarnock Harriers
Members of Kilmarnock Harriers have kindly chosen Athletics Trust Scotland as the charity partner of two events they are organising: 3k on the Green at Glasgow Green on Friday 29 May and Roon the Toon 10k in Kilmarnock on Sunday 8 June. By supporting these events, runners will also be supporting an important cause.
Everything you need to know about Scottish Running Week – including fundraising ideas, examples of what clubs have done in previous years, and how to register your event – can be found in the fundraising pages of the ATS website.
Athletics Trust Scotland is a charity which uses the power of athletics and running to transform lives in Scotland. The charity is committed to making our wonderful sport more accessible for all.
