Three Scots are headed for Florida and World Cross with GB and NI

Three Scottish athletes will compete in the World Cross Country Champs this weekend.

Tallahassee in Florida is the venue for races on Saturday (10 January).

British Athletics named their Novuna GB and NI team shortly before Christmas and there were places for three Scots via the selections of Megan Keith, Phoebe Anderson and Zara Redmond.

Megan of course won individual silver and team silver at the Euro Cross in the Senior Women’s category. Joining her on the team podium was Phoebe (as the second GB and NI athlete home).

In the Junior Women’s selection by British Athletics, there is a place for young Kilbarchan AAC athlete, Zara Redmond. Zara also raced at the Euro Cross in Portugal – her first experience in a GB and NI vest.

The British Athletics selection numbers 20 athletes in total for the trip to Florida.
