Scout wins 2024 World Cup

There was brilliant news for Scottish hill running when it was confirmed Scout Adkin has won the World Mountain Running Association (WMRA) World Cup Series for 2025.

Scout missed the final races last weekend in Slovenia through injury but still had enough points to take top place in the Women’s table.

Congratulations to Scout, her family and coach Angela Mudge.

It means a successful defence of the crown for the athlete who started out via Moorfoot Runners. Scout won the 2024 title by only a single point last October.

This time a series of top performances saw a string of first and second places to amass a 358 points tally and that proved enough despite an ankle injury suffered in the British trials for the World Champs.

We understand Scout is now in intensive rehab ahead of the World Champs in Canfranc.

In the last races in Slovenia last weekend, fellow Scot Kirsty Dickson had a fine third place in the uphill race. Kirsty was 10th in the overall World Cup table.
