Nick Percy won the Bedford International Games discus event in Chelmsford.
The Olympian, who won for Scotland at Loughborough International last weekend, was in good form at the Bank Holiday Monday event.

Four young jumps athletes were selected to represent Scotland in Pathway International within the BIG event.
In the U23 Women’s Long Jump, there were good performances by Hannah Wallace as the Cumbernauld AAC athlete leapt to a new legal PB of 6.11m. Hannah also had a 6.25m windy performance.
In the U18 High Jump, Leanna Elliot (Cumbernauld AAC) cleared 1.64m and Anna Reid (Aberdeen AAC) was at 1.60m.

The weekend weather forecast didn’t look great for our second Throws Grand Prix at Linwood with heavy rain and blustery wind expected.
Fortunately, competitors and Officials managed to dodge the showers but not the testing wind which benefitted the Javelin throws but left the discus throwers facing headwinds.
Over 134 athletes entered and a grand total of 44 PBs were achieved. Highlights included Sophie Robertson‘s hammer throw of 58.68m and Logan Mitchell‘s shot at 15.57m – both PBs.
As always thanks to all the Officials and volunteers, without them there would be no opportunities to compete.
The third Throws GP is on Saturday 19 July at Grangemouth.
With thanks to Jim Green
