Next generation: Six Scots headed World Juniors with GB and NI

Monday 3rd August 2026

Team announcement by UK Athletics

Six young Scots are with the Novuna GB and NI team at the World Juniors.

That is the biggest representation of Scots on a GB team for these World U20 Championships stretching back over 20 editions in 40 years of the championships.

Four of the six athletes have been through or are with our National Academy in a fitting and encouraging endorsement of the programme.

British Athletics have taken a strong team to Eugene.  After an initial first wave selection, a full selection was announced of 49 emerging athletes for the Novuna GB and NI team.

It is a hugely exciting moment for these talented Scots with the event running from August 5-9.

We send good luck support to each of the athletes and underline our warm congratulations to each of the athletes and to their families, coaches and the clubs involved in their development over the years.
