Hammer trophies were presented to Liam Nolan and Sophie Robertson
Completing an excellent year of throwing in Scotland, athletes, coaches and Officials gathered on Sunday for our final event of 2026 – the Winter Throws Meet.
Crownpoint Stadium enjoyed sunshine on a bright and chilly morning and the meet played host to what looks like 43 Personal Best performances over the day!
Alongside the athlete performances it was awesome to see some newer Officials gaining experience on the day under the guidance of our more established purple brigade.
Also on Sunday, our Hammer Development Group trophies were awarded to athletes based on Potential, Performance and Commitment:
This year’s winner are :
Sophie Robertson – Cumbernauld AC (Awarded the Yuri Sedykh Trophy)
Liam Nolan – Law and District AC (Awarded the Alan Bertram Trophy)
Big thank you to all who have competed at our Throws events through the year plus coaches, clubs, venue hosts and Officials.
With thanks to Sam O’Kane, National Field Manager
