Weynay at 2:13 in Amsterdam as Eilish heads for break
There were Scottish athletes racing on the roads in various locations over the weekend.
Weynay Ghebresilasie was in the Netherlands for the Amsterdam Marathon and the Shettleston Harriers athlete came up with a 2:13.25 performance.
That’s a wee bit adrift of his PB but Weynay has moved top of the Scottish marathon rankings for 2024.
Meanwhile, over in India, there was a solid run from Eilish McColgan in the New Delhi Half marathon. Eilish was fourth in a high class field in India with a time of 69:55.
The Scottish Olympian is second in the British rankings this year at the distance with her Great North Run performance.
Eilish has posted the event was the ‘last race of the year’ and she now plans to take a holiday break after a hectic spell post-Paris.
